During the summer of 2010 [DHOC, dba] Dano Builders was the prime subcontractor for construction of a new RV dump station and removal  of the existing RV dump station and lift station at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.  The owner, Dan Ortega, was a pleasure to work with, and is a highly skilled builder.  The quality of work was excellent and the project was completed within budget and on schedule.

During the project, two modifications were necessary due to underground unforeseen conditions and a request by the park superintendant.  Dan was authorized by the general contractor to prepare the proposal for the modifications. Dan’s proposals were very complete and detailed which made justification of the modifications easy with all necessary documentation.

[DHOC, dba] Dano Builders recently installed a Carrier HVAC system on our main headquarters/visitor center building here at Guadalupe Mountains National Park.  I am very impressed with their work ethic and customer service. Our project was unique because it involved integration of the new system with our current system until funds come available to complete the second phase.  Fortunately, Dan Ortega, the owner of [DHOC, dba] Dano Builders, had the knowledge and experience to realize that the engineer had left out some critical design features that would not only have hindered the current operation, but also the transition into phase 2 down the road.  Dan took it upon himself to make it right and you just don’t get that type of customer service these days.

[DHOC, dba] Dano Builders also performed as a subcontractor to replace a wastewater system for us. Again, Dan went the extra mile to ensure complete satisfaction.  I wouldn’t hesitate in hiring [DHOC, dba] Dano Builders to perform any type of work because I am confident that Dan has the knowledge and skills to do it right and I enjoy the quality customer service.

I have been working with Dan Ortega, of [DHOC, dba] Dano Builders, for almost a year now, on a very difficult rehabilitation and remodeling of the Visitor Center at Canyon de Chelly National Monument.  I have found Dan to be a pleasure to work with.  He is deeply involved in the day to day details of the project, responds quickly to situations as they arise, and is always willing and able to discuss and resolve problems in a calm, professional manner.  He has extensive knowledge and understanding of construction means and methods, and is always willing to look at alternatives and work towards helping shape solutions to issues that inevitably come up during a project.  He also has a deep commitment to providing high quality work and getting the work completed.

He is a refreshing change from most of the contractors I work with. I highly recommend him and his company.
