We Expertly Handle Commercial and Residential Projects From Start to Finish
In 1985, Daniel H. Ortega opened up Ace Refrigeration, Heating, & Cooling, a full-service heating and cooling company in Boise, Idaho. Adding plumbing to his expertise, Dan, and his wife, Lauri, spent the next 10 years living and building on the Indian Reservations throughout Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah under the Navajo Housing Authority and Bureau of Indian Affairs program, hiring a 100% Native American staff.
In 2004, Daniel received his general contractor’s license in the State of Arizona, and moved their new business, DH Ortega Construction, LLC (DHOC), full-time to Show Low, Arizona. In Show Low, DHOC completed many residential new-builds (including the city’s first hangar home at Silver Creek Airpark) and commercial projects, including two 20,000 square foot hangar buildings at the Show Low Regional Airport.
DHOC received its HUBZone certification in 2009 and its 8(a) certification in 2013, and has completed 40+ federally funded projects throughout the western United States for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Park Service, National Forest Service, US Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Bureau of Reclamation.
DHOC employs Site Safety & Health Officers (SSHOs) and Construction Quality Control Managers (CQCMs) who ensure safety and quality are top priorities on every project. Along with DHOC’s SSHOs and CQCMs, its superintendents and foremen are also certified in OSHA 30, EM-385-1.1 40-hour, USACE Contractor’s Quality Control Management, and CPR/First Aid/AED.
